Photography – Kaia’s Christening Photos from Valbella NYC

Kaia’s Christening was a wonderful day in New York City filled with a beautiful fall afternoon and evening, family/friends and lots of celebration. The christening ceremony was held at the The Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Greek Orthodox). It was my first time shooting a ceremony for a Greek christening and I loved all of the meaning behind each part of the one hour mass. Andrea and Steve, the parents of Kaia, had the 4 pm mass all to themselves so the church was open to friends and family only. This allowed for an extremely intimate setting and the church was stunning. With all the beautiful lighting, candles and gold trimmings it was a soft and delicate room filled with love.

After the ceremony everyone headed to downtown to the Meat Packing District for a dinner reception fit for a little queen at Valbella NYC. The restaurant is tucked away in the dark streets of the bustling area but once inside it is so charming and intimate. The dark wood, candles, lighting coming from the ceiling and wine decor made it feel very warm and welcoming. With delicious food, many toasts by family and friends and a dance floor full of happy faces it was a wonderful event.

Below are some photos from the event:
