First LUSH Fresh Homemade Cosmetics Experience – Bath Lover Heaven

First LUSH Fresh Homemade Cosmetics Experience – Bath Lover Heaven

Taking a long, hot bath after a stressful day or a really hard workout is my absolute favorite thing to do when I have some time to relax. Usually when my muscles are really sore a hot soak will make my muscles relaxed and gives me some “me” time…so it was an amazing treat when my best friend gave me a box of LUSH Fresh Homemade Cosmetics products to pamper myself with. I have to admit, I have heard so many great things about LUSH but I never took the time to go into one of their stores or check out their website. I am so glad that I was able to test out these products as a gift so that now I understand what all the fuss is about. It might just be my new favorite place to order my bath and beauty products from.

I received a ton of great products like their infamous bath bombs, Lemony Flutter cuticle butter, Gorgeous facial moisturizer, foot mask cream, Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub and Vanill Dee-Lite body lotion.

A little bit of background on LUSH Cosmetics

1. They do not commission products to make their products that test on animals. Therefore LUSH is cruelty free – which is a huge plus in my book!

2. The company began back in 1970 with a mission to make great natural beauty products with homemade ingredients

3. Their products are made from fresh, organic fruits and vegetables and are vegetarian.

4. They  believe in ethical buying, which means their buyers go directly to meet with the suppliers to see where the products or ingredients come from to ensure they are aligned with their brand mission and standards.

5. Their prices are very fair and reasonable considering the quality and care that goes into the creation of the products.

6. Every shipment tells you who packaged the product by name and  cartoon image of them and when the package was put together so you know the date and how fresh your order is.

My favorite LUSH item? LUSH Bath Bombs!

LUSH Bath Bombs were first to bring some luxury to boring baths: mood enhancing fragrances, flower petals, colors, moisturizing butters – all manner of surprises to make bath times worthy of spending your well earned relaxation in there. The bombs come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Most are around $6.95 and make for great gifts! You simple drop them into a warm tub and they will slowly start to work. The bath water will change colors and if you are running your bath you will get some bubbles too. The water will not stain your tub or shower at all so have no fear. I have to say that the bombs I used made my skin so soft and silky!

They are quite large so what you can do is break them up into pieces if you want to make them last longer. That is what I did and got about 3 bath soaks out of one bath bomb. Within minutes I was soaking it up in a hot, relaxing bath and that felt amazing after a week of hard workout sessions on my muscles. Paired with a glass of red wine and a candle it was the perfect treat for myself after a long week!

Their other products were just as great to try out and I continue to use them. Their body scrub is the perfect amount of exfoliation without feeling like your skin is being strip of all the moisture. Especially in the winter time, I avoid doing too many scrubs on my skin but this was gentle and the scent was light and refreshing!

In the colder months my hands, cuticles and face get super dry so these smaller samples of the LUSH cuticle butter and the facial cream were great! The cuticle butter is like a paste that you just rub on your finger nail beds and it really felt moisturizing without being really greasy or oily. The face cream as well was very light and did not make my face feel like an oil slick – they were both really great products in a small enough size so if I liked it, I can buy it again in a bigger size and if I didn’t like it, it wasn’t a huge loss.

Overall I have to say that LUSH has a new customer in me. I love what they stand for as a brand, I LOVE that they are cruelty free and all the products that I tried were above my expectations. I used all of these items and plan to make another purchase from their website. I know they have a location in the Newport Center Mall in Jersey City, NJ so I may take a trip there and check it out.
