June Workout and Fitness Favorites

DSC_0007

Hi everyone, hope you’re having a great week! I wanted to start to share on a monthly basis some of the workout items that I am using and really liking. As you may know from some of my posts on social media and here on my blog I am always trying out new products. I always make sure to give them a good month or two before I share them to make sure I truly like them before recommending anything to you. Everything in this photo above I have been using for awhile; some for months and months and some for the last month or two. These are all my current staple items in my fitness and workout routine. I thought this might be helpful since some of you do ask what I am taking or using so here it is; my June edition of fitness favorites!

Current supplements include:

Preworkout: Cellucor C4 in Fruit Punch. I do one scoop with a small amount of water before I head to the gym. I also love C4 Ripped (it’s C4 but without creatine) but when I went to the store they were all out so I went with the regular formula which is fine by me.

Intra and Post Workout: I love pineapple flavored anything, it’s my absolute favorite flavor but not a ton of companies make anything with it. I use 2 scoops of this in a 20 ounce shaker bottle, some ice and water and drink it during my workout. I also use this throughout the day to flavor my water. This one is called Amino Energy by Optimum Nutrition but I also love the i.Liv BCAA powder by I am Nutritionals in Pineapple as well. (go to www.iamnutritionals.com and use promo code JERSEYGIRL15 for 15% off anything on their site)

Thermogenic: I take 1 capsule of ReWire by I am Nutritionals, break it open and dump out half of the powder then take the pill before my workout. I can’t do a full capsule of any thermogenic but 1/2 works great for me. It gives me a ton of energy during my cardio days and also seems to help me sweat more too.

Sweat Enhancer Gel: I have been using sample packets of Sweet Sweat as part of my workout regiment. You apply the gel to the areas of your body you want more “warmth” or to sweat more. I put this on my arms on upper body day and all over my stomach area for cardio days. When I put this on it makes me sweat a ton and if you wear a sweat belt with this, oh my do you get drenched in sweat. It smells really good and does not feel gross on your skin. I love this stuff as part of my summer time cutting routine.

Slendertone Ab Toning Belt: I received a free Slendertone ab toning belt from their company to test out over the next 6 weeks. You download the free app to your iPhone and pair it with the device. 5 times a week I put this on and do an ab toning routine for thirty minutes. Each session is equivalent to 210 sit ups! I do this in conjunction with a workout program but at night, when I am sitting on the couch, I do this and it really works. I can see my ab muscles contract every few seconds and you can increase or decrease the intensity. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and my core is looking awesome. Keep an eye out as I will be doing a post with a giveaway in the next week. Each device is valued over $200!

Music & Playlist: Lately I have been working out using my Beats by Dre Solo headset. I have tried to use blue tooth ear buds but they always fall out of my ears, so I went back to using these. They are my tried and true music must have. As for music lately I have been using the iHeartRadio app on Pride Radio during my workouts. I was using Pandora for awhile but the songs are all the same so I had to change it up a bit. Pride Radio has a ton of old club songs I grew up with and new ones – the variety is great for lifting and cardio days.

Those are my current favorite items for my workouts. I am aiming to do my workouts in the AM again; for a bit I was working out after work but I noticed my energy was garbage! Now I wake up around 6am, head to the gym before work, have a coffee on the ride home and then get ready for work. It is so much easier to just get the workout out of the way and it gives me more energy throughout the day too. I hope this post was helpful, let me know if you have any questions about any of the products mentioned.

I’ve also been loving the leggings and fitness gear from Forever21 lately; so affordable and really good quality. I got these leggings (link) for under $15 and they are high waist leggings which I love. I got them in a few colors and find that their leggings fit me very well! I also picked up this tank top from Target and sports bra from Walmart – I love saving money on fitness apparel since I wear it so much and it doesn’t need to be expensive to be cute and comfortable!

  1. For such a tiny lady that’s a whole lot of Energy supplements! I was reading one of the labels (the only product that actually showed the label) and it wasn’t completely clean. Yellow 5 was in the ingredient list. Thoughts? I eat clean, but I would like to start using a muscle recovery supplement, but most of the ones I see are not clean. Thoughts?

  2. these all work well for me with no crash or jitters. everyone is different and tolerance as well
