Video – Meal Prep Healthy Grocery Shopping List and Tips For What To Buy

Here’s a quick video vlog of my trip to Trader Joe’s today for grocery shopping. It’s my favorite place to get all of my fresh foods, lean meats and meal prep must-haves. I figured you might like to join me while I head in and get all of my items, but I also did a full video as well showing you item by item what I bought this week. I wanted to go through bag by bag of what I bought and also do a quick chit chat on why I buy some of the same items week after week, and some new things I like to try.

Trader Joe’s Grocery Shopping Vlog

Full walk through un bagging video going bag by bag of what I bought at Trader Joes:

For my weekend I either go to Trader Joe’s, Shop Rite or Fairway Market but 9 times out of 10 my weekly grocery shopping and meal prep purchases happen at Trader Joe’s. I swear by now I should buy stock in the company because all I do is promote them and spend my weekly paychecks there. Anyhow, I love their selection and always spend between $100-$200 for each trip but that gets me all of our meals until at least Thursday and then I sometimes have to stop somewhere and get a few more vegetables or another pack of meat or maybe fish for dinner.

So here is my cart and what it looked like. I love that the store is so small I don’t have a million different aisles to tempt me at my every turn. I know that each aisle I have certain things I know and love and then seasonally they add in some new items I like to try out. They have a great selections of organic and natural products and their produce and fruit, at least at the one I go to, is always fresh. I have never had a problem, but I do suggest always looking at your produce especially any in the plastic bags just to double check there is no water or soggy pieces inside.

So let’s go through some of the things that I purchased and also I will share with you items I buy religiously every single week.

First off let’s dive into weekly purchases:

fat free cottage cheese, organic skim milk, organic eggs, organic grass fed ground beef, organic chicken & vegetable broth, fat free plain organic yogurt, raw almonds, organic chicken breasts, lean ground turkey or chicken, lots of green leafy vegetables.

As for things I pick up often but not always a staple in my weekly purchases:

salsa (for eggs), organic oatmeal (buy whenever I run out), organic peanut butter (i have a pantry full so I don’t re buy until I need to), hard boiled eggs, salmon burger patties (I like to try these from time to time), condiments like bbq sauce or mustard, crab meat to make salads with, berries (I only buy fruit if i plan to make more protein shakes, but lately I buy a lot and never use them all before they go bad), salad dressing (i usually just use olive oil and apple cider vinegar).
