BEBE Spring Dress Collection Shopping Haul and Review

Spring Time is coming, which means lots of wardrobe updates, events to attend, bridal showers, weddings, baby showers and many uses for fun, flirty and pretty dresses! I have to say that one of my favorite shops to get dresses from is BEBE – it is one store that actually carries small sizes like XXS and XS which sometimes for me I have to buy. I am petite and when it comes to dresses, most department stores start at a size 2 and even those fit kind of big in certain areas of my body. What’s great about BEBE is they usually have a ton of items on sale if you check the sale racks and they are always bringing in tons of new items. I love my dresses to be sexy but also classy, meaning that if the dress is tight, at least it is long or if it is a bit more short, then it will at least have long sleeves. I am a big believer that you should work to accentuate on body part; if you want to show off legs with a shorter cut, then leave the top a bit more modest and if you want to show off maybe a bit of cleavage then make sure you cover up more on the bottom. It’s all about a nice balance and that’s what I always look for in dresses.  IMG_1355.PNG

When I went to the BEBE stores in San Diego, I was on the hunt for a bridal shower dress or two. I had mine which was upcoming so I wanted to find dresses in the white and neutral colors. Almost all of the dresses in the store right now are beautiful creams, peaches, pinks, floral and neutral colors so the palette is super pretty! Everything I tried on I loved, which is a good thing and a bad thing – I had a hard time deciding which dresses to buy! I also needed some dresses for upcoming gatherings I am attending so it was nice that there was a great selection of styles and designs to choose from. Typically in BEBE clothes I wear a XXS but some of the dresses, especially the more form-fitting ones I went with XS so that I had room to move and breath! They also were really great with the customer service, offering me a pair of heels to try on with the dresses to get a good idea of what this would look like in real life when worn with shoes.

My favorite dress which I put on the “YES” list to purchase right away was the dress below. I am really liking the longer dresses lately that either hit right above the knee or below the knee. The midi style is very popular right now and to me it is very elegant and classy. I also loved this white overlay lace detailing and the face that it was so comfortable to wear! IMG_0610.JPG

The next dress I loved was this long sleeve, key hole top and peplum cut dress! The peach/light pink color was so pretty and I think would be flattering on all skin tones. The sleeves were a bit different from anything I had seen before, but I did like the length of the bottom of the dress as well as the long sleeve style. This is a great one for a bridal shower or a nice night out for dinner with your beau.

If you want to turn it up a notch with something sexy for a night out for drinks or a ladies night this dress was fun and flirty. It came with its own built-in gold metal belt which I loved. It was also very clingy so it will be something to show off your curves. I liked the color of this one, but decided to pass on it as it was not something I could see myself wearing often enough to get use of it. I did like the material and the color though, if you are a bit more daring this was a good option!

This dress was my second favorite, I absolutely loved the colors of this dress! The short cap sleeve was also super flattering and I liked the way the dress gathered at the waist on the side. This was something I could see myself wearing to a birthday party or family function. It has just enough coverage and was so light and fun for the spring or summer time!

The last dress I tried on was a miss. I thought this would be perfect for my bridal shower as it was white and long sleeves which meant it was “family friendly”, but unfortunately all of the layering and gathering of the materials didn’t seem so flattering. This was also the smallest size they had and it still just felt very heavy and made me look boxier than I wanted. Perhaps if there was less draping I might have went for this one, but I opted out on the white dress.

If you are tiny, petite and always seem to have issues with finding dressing in your size you should check out BEBE. There used to be one located at the mall near me in Wayne, New Jersey but it has since closed. Thankfully when I visited California they had a store but I have to check to see where there is one in
