In the winter time my hair gets extremely dry and feels like straw; all the blow drying, hot tools, hair spray and constant washing makes it dry up real quick. I have a hard time finding hair products that are cruelty free but that are also really great quality. I have color treated hair and it is dry, but it can also get oily so finding a moisturizing product that doesn’t weigh my hair down is tough. I recently got my hands on the Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Tamanu Deep Treatment Masque and have used it a few times with great results.  If you have hair that feels like it needs a little TLC than you might be interested in trying this one out.

The masque comes in a jar and has a very faint fragrance but nothing offensive or too strong. It is soft and doesn’t feel sticky or tacky to the touch. To use, I simply wash my hair with my regular shampoo, currently I use AG Hair Care Colour Savour Shampoo, rinse and then apply the mask to all of my hair coating to from roots to ends. I wrap my hair up in a bun and then leave the mask on for the recommended 45 minutes. I have to admit it is a long time to leave a mask on, but I simply did errands around my house while waiting for the masque to set in. When I rinsed the mask out my hair felt very silky, soft and not full of product or heavy with residue. I have to say that this is probably my favorite mask that I have tried on my hair in a long time. I have tried some of the Moroccan oil masks and those seemed to make my hair feel soft but then get very oily. It felt weighed down and did not leave my hair feeling clean or refreshed. After using this masque three or four times I can see a difference in the shine and texture of my hair

Untitled-2 Other things I love about this brand is they do not test on animals. Their products are cruelty free, paraban free and do not contain silicones or polymers. The masque also helps to prevent breakage, which I have a problem with with my hair. It is always breaking and I get split ends very easily. Nubian Heritage Indian hemp and tamanu grow and strengthen treatment masque intensely conditions with hemp, tamanu and monoi oils, while keratin and bamboo strengthen and fortify hair for a healthy, voluminous appearance. This product adds strength bath to your hair, especially if you are a color treating person like myself, the ends are always breaking and fried. A good mask, that is very moisturizing, can be used 1-2 times a week and should focus mostly on the ends of your hair. If you put it on the scalp it can tend to get heavy and oily, so work it into the ends and then halfway up the hair shaft, but don’t put it all over.
