Lean Turkey Burger for a high protein, healthy, quick meal

If you’re ever looking for a healthy version of a burger always go with a lean turkey burger. Not only are they much lower in fat but to me they personally taste so much better. I am not a huge red meat eater, so a turkey burger is always a good call when I want something filling and delicious! A lean turkey burger patty is about 180 calories and also packs 20 grams of protein too which is great for your macros.

A great option when looking in the meat section for lean burger meat is Jennie – O. They come seasoned and unseasoned if you prefer to add your own seasonings (which I do). I prefer to use Mrs. Dash or McCormicks to keep the sodium intake down a bit. This brand is also gluten free and all natural which I can’t say for some other “lean burger” brands.

I like to use a bagel thin that is whole wheat and toast it in a toaster to make it a little bit crisp. These are less than 100 calories and are not as thick as a normal burger patty. I also then start to load on the healthy toppings like lettuce, avocado, tomato slices or pickle slices.

Instead of chips you can also make a quick vegetable medley either hot or cold. You can use cauliflower, broccoli, diced carrots and mix with some apple cider vinegar for taste. This quick lunch meal will only take around 15 minutes since that’s about how long it will take to cook the burger on a skillet and then prepare with your toppings.
