Maracuja Miracle 12 Hour Foundation by Tarte Cosmetics – Review

I recently purchased a ton of new Tarte Cosmetics during their big holiday sale and one of the items was the Maracuja Miracle Foundation. If you want to learn more about my review of this foundation just check out my post here and some photos below.

I recently ran out of my current liquid foundation (it was Dior Nude, amazing product which I loved but it was rather pricey and I wanted to try out Tarte since it was a natural product and cruelty free) so it was perfect timing to try a new one. Tarte had been running a great deal around the holidays so I bought a few items that I  had never tried by them before. This time I bought as part of my order the Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation – 12 Hour Formula. I don’t always wear a liquid foundation but if I do I want it to feel like and natural. I used to wear MAC liquid foundation when I was younger but it always felt like a mask and so heavy. It also didn’t photograph well so I was in the market for a new one and this was what I got.

The color I got was MEDIUM, which for me is actually a little darker than I had hoped for. This will be perfect when I have a little tan, but for now it is a bit darker so I blend it with a little drop of my lighter Too Face beauty balm so that it gets a little lighter. Keep in mind you may want to go with a shade lighter than you think. It is very soft and smooth and light. It also really does last me from the morning until I get home after work. I do use a pressed light powder over this to help matte it out a bit and make me not get shiny. It does feel a little wet on the skin but then dries and feels like you have just a beauty balm on.

This foundation is listed as broad spectrum and also has an SPF of 15, which is always good to have in your foundation. It gives you a dewy glow and not so much a dry, powdery matte finish so keep that in mind when you buy. This is great for a more natural look.

From the TarteCosmetics.com Website:

Awaken your complexion with this maracuja oil-infused, anti-aging, and moisturizing full coverage liquid foundation— perfect for all skin types and ideal for sensitive, dehydrated, dry or aging skin. The coverage is flawless, the staying power performs all day, the feel is silky, and it imparts a subtle, dewy finish.

This foundation has a eco-friendly looking cap and then underneath the cap has a gold pump. You only need 1 pump (I wish I could do less because 1 pump is actually a lot of liquid). It is right now $21.00 on their website or you can also find on Amazon for around the same price here

This is one pump of the product and for me this is a lot. I wind up not needing it all and sometimes just wipe my foundation brush on a napkin. That makes me feel a bit wasteful so I kind of wish this was just a regular bottle so I can control the amount that comes out each time.

Here is a photo of the various colors you can get the foundation in online or in Sephora stores:
