For any of you high heel lovers out there, like me, this post will help you take advantage of your shoe closet, and at the very bottom there is a rebate for a free trial of Amopé Gel Activ™ Insoles
How many times have you heard the saying, “Beauty is pain” or “I’ll sacrifice comfort for beauty?” I know it has come off my tongue before and usually when I say those words it has to do with extremely uncomfortable shoes, mainly high heels. I remember on New Year’s Eve this year getting the most amazing pair of Christian Louboutin heels from my husband as a Christmas gift and creating my entire evening outfit around those Pigalles. As I put them on my feet, brand new and beautiful, I knew right away this would be a night of foot torture. While the shoes are absolutely gorgeous they are the farthest thing from comfy, and I just knew I was in for a long night ahead.
For those of you who own a pair of Christian Louboutin Pigalle or So Kate heels you know what pain I’m talking about. I even wrote a previous post talking all about how I had to go to extreme lengths to stretch out these puppies so that I wouldn’t have to crawl back to the car at the end of the evening (which I almost did on NYE just so you know.) I can usually handle a 4″ inch heel but anything above that, the arch just kills my feet. You know what I’m referring to, the burning on the base of your foot and you do some funny walk where your knees are slightly bent to alleviate the pain (very glamorous I know).
My toe cleavage was super sexy in those extreme heels, but deep inside my toes were squished like sardines and the balls of my feet felt like they were on fire. These are definitely the heels that make you pay for every step just too look elegant. I know what you’re thinking, “well who on Earth would spend that kind of money on heels that feel so terrible on your feet?” and I agree. There had to be some way to make a heel like this more enjoyable to wear!
I have to say any other style of Louboutins that I have ever owned have never hurt like those two styles, but after wearing them the first night there was no way I could return them. I had to find a way to make these more comfortable to wear instead of letting them sit in a box at the top of my clothes closet. No one wants to pay any amount of money for shoes that never get worn and just collect dust, so Amopé came up with an idea: develop inserts and insoles you can put inside those sexy shoes that are comfortable and thin enough that they won’t crowd your feet but make your heels much easier to wear.
I was so excited to learn about Amopé Gel Activ Insoles, and when their team reached out for me to review their product I was really happy. Their inserts enable you to wear the shoes you love, even those that you have given up on. I have purchased Amopé products before, namely their pedicure foot file and callus remover because, let’s face it, if you wear heels every single day like me you need a pedicure once a week. I also workout every day too so my poor little feet take a beating!
I visited my local Target store (which is in Clifton, New Jersey) to check out the selection of Amopé products and pick up something to help me get back in my sexy red bottomed heels and back on my feet (literally). They carry a ton of Amopé items including the pedicure foot file tool and many other products. In my Target, it was located near the foot care products and also the feminine care items, though I am not sure that is where it is located in every Target store.
I love shopping in Target, however, I am a terrible “go in and just get one thing” shopper; this place sucks me in every time. My cart was filled with a few Amopé insoles as well as a ton of other things I didn’t even intend to buy like makeup, candles and clothes. I love that Target carries everything I need in one stop, so of course going in here is always a longer than expected adventure. My Amopé Gel Activ insoles were $9.99 and are reusable so that is a great price.
There are no other insoles in the market for women like this, it is revolutionary! There are a variety of different Amopé Gel Activ insoles to choose from depending on the type of shoe you wear. They are all super slim so they fit inside any type of shoe perfectly without being big and bulky, nor do they crowd your toes. They had four different types at Target so make sure to visit your local store to pick some up:
- Amopé Gel Activ Everyday Heels
- Amopé Gel Activ Extreme Heel
- Amopé Gel Activ Flat Shoes
- Amopé Gel Activ Open Shoes.
I chose the Extreme Heel insoles because I live in high heels at work and when I go out for dinner, drinks or dancing. The only time I ever wear flat shoes is in the gym or when it’s snowing and I’m in boots (and even then sometimes they may be high heeled boots). They have support that is tailored to the pressure points created by the different kinds of shoes women wear.
For example, the ball of foot and extra arch support for extreme heels, arch support and ball of foot support for everyday heels, heel support for flat shoes and extra cushioning on the ball of foot and narrow design for open shoe insoles. They feel really light and pillow like on your feet, like you are walking on air! I also love that they are clear so they are virtually undetectable even when your shoes are not on your feet. They are not too sticky either so they can come in and out and be put into different shoes, but they have a slightly grippy material so they stay in place and don’t shift around under your feet while you are walking.
Now for the free & fun stuff:

Thank you so much to the folks at Amopé for letting me try out their inserts and make my high heel wearing days and nights MUCH more comfy and bearable. It’s a shame to have a pair of heels that just don’t get worn because they are painful to put on, but I encourage you to try adding one of these inserts to see just how good wearing your sexy shoes can be! Turn your heels into sneakers! So readers, I’d love to know:
1. How many pairs of shoes do you own versus how many do you actually wear? These insoles allow you to wear them ALL.
2. Which insole do you want to try? #Amopé #ShoeLove
