Blueberry Muffin Madness – The Newest Quest Bar Flavor is Revealed!

DSC00021

When I heard the flavor Blueberry Muffin was coming from Quest I wasn’t quite sure how it would taste, would I like it, could it really remind me of one of my favorite childhood pastries? The newest addition to the Quest Bar family became available for purchase and was announced on September 7th with much anticipation. Growing up I loved blueberry muffins, toasted with a little butter – my mouth is salivating right now thinking of those tasty treats. I also loved the muffin top with the tiny sugar crystals which were crunchy and delicious. Of course, a regular blueberry muffin is going to put you at about 550 calories and a ton of sugar and carbs – but if you want to satisfy that sweet tooth this is a much better option for your macros and fitness goals.

Let’s talk about macros and nutrition: 1 bar (60 grams)

  • 190 calories
  • 14 grams of fiber
  • 22 grams of carbs; 5 grams of net carbs
  • 21 grams of protein
  • 14 grams of fiber
  • 2 grams of sugar
  • 3 grams of erythritol
  • 6 grams of fat; 2.5 saturated & 0 trans
  • 200 grams of sodium

For a quick, in between meals bar this does have good macros; high in protein and under 200 calories. This is a little lower than the normal fiber count in most other Quest Bars that I have had before; usually they are around 18 grams of fiber, but this one is 14. That isn’t a huge turn off, but most of the protein bars that I eat are at least 18 grams of fiber which is good to help me feel full on the go.

Let’s talk quickly about taste and texture. As you can see from these photographs I took this bar is packed with chunky bits and pieces of blueberries and a muffin like crunch. It is dense and really made me feel full for quite awhile before lunch time and I can easily see this being something I carry in my purse to eat when I am in a pinch and need something but don’t want to eat a ton of calories. I keep my protein bars to around 180-230 calories max so this worked its way into my macros nicely. The flavor is on point with an actual blueberry muffin; the sweetness and the crunchy pastry pieces were a nice bonus. Just like their chocolate chip cookie dough bar has those big chocolate chunks, this muffin bar has pieces too that I think people are going to really love. Flavor is really delicious and I think people are going to add this one to the top of their list of favorite Quest Bar flavors very soon.
