Wedding Guest #OOTD with Eliza J, Hermes and Coach

I shared a few images this weekend from a wedding we attended for a dear friend of ours on the beautiful property called the Hildene in Manchester, Vermont. The property was the Lincoln family (our President Abraham Lincoln’s son lived there) summer home and was nestled on a tree lined cliff in the mountains. The wedding was absolutely breathtaking and the gardens on site were just the perfect backdrop for the nuptials. I got a few questions about my gown that I wore so I wanted to share more details here with you on where I got it and who it was by.

My gown was by a designer named Eliza J. and the dress was purchase this time last year at the Nordstrom in Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ. I got this dress last year to wear for my wedding rehearsal dinner, but I wound up never wearing it and opted for a traditional white dress instead. I had the dress altered because it was too short for me and it is a size 2. I wanted a size 0 but there were none available but the 2 did fit just fine. The dress zips up the side and ties around the neck. It is super light with a layer of fabric underneath to prevent it from being sheer. It is movable and so fun to twirl in on the dance floor! The dress comes in a variety of colors and other styles but you can see a bunch of them here.

What I loved about this gown is the length, because I always look forward to getting dressed up and as we get older there are no proms or formals to attend so weddings always get me excited to play dress up. It’s usually the case that I have to have my dresses hemmed because I am 5’5″ and most gowns are always dragging on the floor for me, even in high heels! I wore a pair of black beaded Coach heels that had a great strap on the ankle and a black silk bow detailed clutch bag that held so many things that I got from NY&Co.

When it came to my hair I washed it and then did a quick blow dry so that I could curl it. I used a clipless curling iron and did my entire head with 1 inch sections all over. I then sprayed my hair with One & Only argan oil hair spray which is soft and light weight. It also smells really good too. For jewelry I used a bunch of cute bangles that I picked up at Charlotte Rousse and a new white and gold Hermes cuff I just recently purchased.

The dress was so fun to wear and I loved the blue floral pattern and bright colors! The summer is a great time to try out more colorful styles and when the wedding is outdoors, like ours was this past weekend, it’s always great to coordinate your look with the beautiful scenery!

Here are a few more images from the wedding venue, location and fun time in Vermont. Weddings are so fun, I’m sad that mine is come and gone and wish we could do ours all over again.
