What’s in my purse – October Edition

I am going to kick off a new blog series to share what I carry with me at all times during each month. As seasons change, fitness goals are tweaked and as I try out new products I will share “What’s in my purse” with all of my readers. So without further delay, let’s get on with the month of October shall we?

October Bag Must Haves

With fall weather here I love using my tote bags to carry around lots of goodies in my purse. I like big bags to stuff lots of stuff in, especially a scarf or maybe a small cardigan to layer up in. Right now I am carrying my Burberry tote bag which I got from Bloomingdales last Christmas. I am not sure if they have this particular style anymore but they have many great ones right now (click here). My wallet I purchase on the Coach Outlet website last year as well – they always have some great items at 30-40% off and this one matches with mostly everything. They also have a ton at a great price on Zappos.com as well. As for the rest of my outfit the jeans are from Target (they have a great buy one get one 50% off right now), Blazer is from H&M, tank top is from Forever21 and shoes are Jessica Simpson.

For snacks and treats on the go:

I carry protein peanut butter packets with me now that I can use to add on a brown rice cake, slice of ezekiel bread or put on top of anything to get in a bit more protein. Right now I use the Buff Bake Snickerdoodle and the D’s Naturals Chocolate Fudge Cake Batter as back up protein packets. I also carry protein bars in my bag in the event I need something to munch on but can’t stop for something more substantial to eat. Right now I’ve been buying the D’s Natural No Cow Bars a lot. They are plant based protein bars that use no dairy or soy or gluten. I like that they are high in protein and fiber and under 200 calories. Adding extra protein into my diet is always tough to do, especially if I am on the go and skip meals so these are little life savers for me to always have in my bag.

Lip Care & Lip Moisturizers

In the fall and winter months I always have a few lip balms or chapsticks on hand to make sure my lips stay moisturized. After taking Accutane in my 20’s (a very strong prescription drug to reduce oil production and usually associated with acne) my lips never bounced back. There are always dry and in the fall and winter they chap really badly, for this reason I use a few different treatments for my lips. I like the Burt’s Bees lip balms and especially the Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit one. I also love the Smith’s Strawberry Lip Balm which was extremely popular in the 90’s when the Olsen twins were constantly interviewed and promoted the love of their salves. I also like the Honest Company lip balms since they use all natural ingredients and has no real flavor to it and they are organic lip balms.

Random must haves in my purse:

So everything that is left is pretty random I must say but it all has a purpose and reason behind it. I always travel with a hand sanitizer spray and I like the Honest Company hand sanitizer since it has a nice scent to it. This is great when I am out food shopping and can spray before I go into the store and after, since as we all know grocery shopping carts are pretty disgusting with germs. I also have been feeling under the weather so I carry an Emergen-C packet with me at all times to just add to water. I always have a SD memory card with me at all times, since I usually have my camera with me and always need to have an extra one just in case (photographers will understand this). I also have Stevia packets with me at all times, since no coffee shop ever has natural sweeteners and I refuse to use Equal or Splenda or any aspartame products.

I always have 1-2 extra contact lenses with me, since my vision is so awful I always fear one will fall out and I would literally have issues driving without them. The last thing I always have is Boiron homeopathic Calcarea Sulphurica, which is a natural treatment to help with breakouts. They taste like candy and I have a few of these a day, just pop them under your tongue and let them dissolve. I also randomly always keep dental floss in my bags because you never know when you may need it.

I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about some of my favorite on the go products and they help you as you plan packing your purse daily 🙂
