A Strawberry Protein Smoothie with Banana and Berry Flax Seed

A Strawberry Protein Smoothie with Banana and Berry Flax Seed

I make at least 1-2 protein shakes or smoothies a day so making them taste delicious is super important to me. I get bored easily with foods and drinks so keeping things fun and tasty is key! I currently am loving all things strawberry so I really like this Strawberries & Cream protein by BodyTech paired with some ingredients that are delicious and good for me too! Read below for the full recipe and ingredients information. Having a shake post workout or in between meals helps me to meet my macros and keep up with a high protein diet. Each shake is over 25 grams of protein and having 2 a day is great for my diet. Plus the added flax seed is a healthy fat as well, plus these taste delish!

I love using this Spectrum Ground Flax Seed. It has bits of berries mixed in so it’s great in a smoothie for some crunchier texture or you can sprinkle it in recipes or into yogurt. If you don’t take a fish oil supplement (which you should) this is another good way to get a dose of healthy fats into your diet. Good fats are GOOD FOR YOU!

Why add this flax seed to your smoothies?

  • Excellent source of antioxidants
  • 3 grams of dietary fiber per serving
  • Rich source of omega-3, 6 & 9 fatty acids
  • Included super fruits and berries

I like to add ice to my smoothies to make them thicker. If you prefer the consistency of a milk shake add more ice than liquid, but you do need some water to make it blend well. I love my Nutribullet and recommend getting one for smoothies and protein shakes. I got a few family members one for the holidays this year. It’s a great gift idea! (click here for yours)

Let the smoothie blend for 30-45 seconds to break up all the ice. Once you are all done you can either drink right away or put the lid on and take it with you on the go. Just be careful if you take it with you to secure the cap tightly. This shake has over 27 grams of protein in it and under 250 calories. If you remove the banana you can save another 70 calories but I recommend the banana as its great post workout and is loaded with potassium.
