Hello everyone, the new year is hear and many people are making positive, healthy changes – HOORAY! I wanted to do an updated vitamin and supplement haul to show you what I got on my most recent order of goodies! Many of these are items that I have been taking for awhile but ran out of so they came at just the right time. Let’s jump on in…

Giovanni Hair Care “More Body Hair Thickener” Gel. This is a light weight, non sticky product to add to my hair after it has towel dried. I used this the other night and really like it. Many “gels” for me feel goopy and tacky in my hair but this one felt very light weight. It helps to create some nice volume after blow drying with a round brush and didn’t leave my hair feeling weighed down. It is also a natural hair product so it was a nice change instead of using a mousse or other volumizer with lots of chemicals in it. It has no real scent to it and I can tell this will last a long time because you only need a small amount to work through your entire head of hair.

My gummy buddies – B Complex and Alive Adult Gummy Multivitamin. I take 1 of the B Complex and 2 of the Alive gummies. B Complex contains both B6, B12 and also folic acid. I take this mostly for my hair and the Alive multivitamin I take 2 (though it recommends 3) and it covers all my bases as well as 26 super fruits and vegetables. I personally can’t take big multivitamin pills so these work great for me.

Me and my herbs. I recently started to take saw palmetto and green tea extract. I read in a few forums that saw palmetto helps to support the prevention of hair loss/shedding (don’t know if that’s true) but I started to take that and so far so good. I also usually drink green tea but since I drink a lot of plain water now I opted to take the extract which for me is more for its antioxidant properties and helps me with bloating.

Chew time – I love the taste of these calcium chocolate chews and the vitamin  mixed berry chews. Be careful not to eat too many though, they do have about 30 calories for every 2 chews. Since it is winter time, there is less sunlight so I take Vitamin D in the winter months. Calcium I always take and the chews taste like a chocolate candy anyway.

Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil by Garden of Life – I cannot tell you how much  love using this for so many things. I keep a jar in my bathroom on my bathtub  edge and put a spoonful of it in my hot bath every night. It makes my skin smell and feel so soft and amazing. It dissolves right away and makes the bath so heavenly. I also use it on my feet and on my hands to soften my cuticles when doing a manicure or pedicure.  I have also started to take it and rub it on my eye lashes and eye brows and it has made them feel so much stronger! You can also cook with it too, I mean you can really do anything with this stuff. I love it.

So many girls ask me how to reduce bloating and first thing I ask them is “do you take any kind of digestive enzymes or probiotics?” I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which I believe to have gotten from my old stressful job in NYC and because I took the prescription acne drug Accutane in my 20s. Both of these factors contributed to a year of unbearable stomach cramping, endoscopies and discomfort. The doctor told me to increase my fiber intake and start to take probiotics. To this day I take 2 of these chews to help keep my stomach calm and regular. I don’t get bloating (okay maybe just around that time of the month) but my stomach is flat otherwise and I believe that probiotics helped. I don’t get pains any more and feel much better. That was a rough year!

Just Great Stuff Organic Powdered Peanut Butter – I get this from The Vitamin Shoppe and it’s amazingness in a jar. While it doesn’t have the good fats that you get from full blown peanut butter it is great to add to yogurt, protein shakes or mixed with water to smooth onto ezekiel bread for a healthy snack. I don’t know about you but I love the taste of peanut butter so this works for me. I also like to add it to my vanilla protein powder and water to make it taste more like a peanut butter shake than a vanilla one.

So here are my recent purchases. I got these all online and got them using some free money I earned from shopping at one particular store all year. I will also add links below for you to buy any of these things online in case you want to add them to your routine. If you have any questions feel free to comment below or shoot me an email.
